From an Xbox account and notebook to a lifestyle
GXD wasn't born in a boardroom. It didn't come from a marketing meeting. Its roots are grounded in a life lived in the world of art.
I grew up surrounded by creativity. My mother is a graphic designer, my father a painter and fashion designer. Our home was a gallery of ideas, a place where the whole family could draw, paint, and express themselves. From day one, I was immersed in the art world—it was my first language.
That environment fueled many dreams. At different times, I wanted to be a video game designer, a shoe designer, an automotive designer, and an architect. I even dreamed of opening my own restaurant and gym chains. These ideas all came from the same place: a love for creating something from nothing. With so much talent around me, I was never limited by what I could do, but I was often paralyzed by what I didn't put my whole mind to. A quiet thought always lingered in the background: what if I'm not good enough?
Then, my focus shifted. Life became a demanding schedule of school, football, soccer, basketball, and track. The fields and courts became my world, and my passion for schoolwork and even art began to fade into the background. It was during this time that I first conceived of GXD. It started as the gamertag for my first Xbox account and a motto I'd scribble in notebooks: Greatness X Determination. It was my code, the purpose I was meant to live by—to be the greatest I could be in any and every area of my life.
But after a few decisions changed the course of my life, it occurred to me that I was living a contradiction. I had a powerful statement, but I wasn't standing by it. I was slowly running away from the person I was supposed to be.
That realization was the turning point. I knew it was time to get back on track. I had to turn my life around. I changed my mindset, and eventually, I changed the outcome.
Don't think of GXD as just a brand. It was never meant to be just that. I have always wanted to make my clothes, so I decided to merge my life's philosophy with my passion. Why not create something that people can live by and wear simultaneously?
When I started, I immediately made sure the first design included my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. From there, everything clicked. Designing felt like second nature, but this time it was different. After navigating my trials, I decided to bring wisdom into the recipe.
Now, there is not a single piece of clothing or art that you see that does not have a deep meaning behind it. Life is full of meaning, so our work must reflect that.
Our mission is to spread positivity, hope, courage, blessings, and knowledge to as many people as we are destined to. In our collections, you may find something that suits you, but we hope that you also find something that can transform you. I don't only want this for myself; I want this for everyone.
Join the mission. Pick your armor. Rewrite your story.
Welcome to GXD.
